CLEAR PLANS, FROM THE START
Terms & conditions.
Booking information for your music, celebration and event hire.
Updated 17 October 2026
1. Booking with Paul
These terms describe bookings for DJ services and event hire with DJ Prucey. Contact Paul at paul@djpruceyb.co.uk or 07775 631697. Your written quotation and booking confirmation will identify the contracting supplier, contact address, services, date, venue and agreed charges before you commit. Where a separate supplier provides an item, their identity and applicable terms will be explained before booking.
2. Enquiries and confirmation
Sending an enquiry, creating a shortlist or using an estimate calculator does not reserve a date or hire item. A booking is confirmed only when Paul has confirmed availability and accepted the booking in writing, and any agreed booking deposit has been received. Please check all details in your quotation before accepting.
3. Hourly estimates and your quotation
Online DJ estimates multiply the selected event rate by the performance hours entered. They are starting-point estimates, not an offer of a guaranteed booking or an all-inclusive total. Your written quote will set out performance times, equipment, hire duration, any minimum booking period, setup arrangements and the complete price, including any applicable taxes. Travel, parking, delivery, collection, overtime and optional extras will be itemised where relevant. No additional paid service will be added without your agreement.
4. Deposits and payment
The deposit amount and payment method will be stated in your quotation or invoice. Deposits are credited against the booking total. The final balance is due no later than 28 days before the event; bookings made within that period will have their payment deadline confirmed before acceptance. If payment is late, Paul will contact you and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve it before considering cancellation. Any retained payment is subject to the cancellation terms below and your legal rights.
5. Changes and additional time
Please request changes to the date, venue, services or running order by email. Changes depend on availability and are effective only when agreed in writing. Any change in price must be agreed before the revised service is provided. Extra performance time on the day depends on Paul’s availability and venue permission; the additional charge must be agreed before the extra time starts.
6. If you need to cancel
Please email Paul as soon as possible. Any cancellation charge or amount retained must be fair and reflect the reasonable net loss directly caused by the cancellation, taking account of costs saved and replacement bookings. Paul will explain any charge and refund any payment above the amount properly due. There is no automatic forfeiture of every payment. Any statutory cancellation rights that apply to your booking remain unaffected; relevant information will be provided before you book.
7. If Paul cannot provide the service
Paul will tell you as soon as possible if illness, equipment failure or another problem prevents delivery of the agreed service. Any alternative supplier or material change will require your agreement. If the service cannot be provided and no alternative is agreed, payments for the unprovided service will be refunded. This does not limit any other remedy available under consumer law.
8. Venue access, equipment and safety
Please arrange suitable access for unloading and setup, safe power, adequate space and permission from the venue. Tell Paul in advance about stairs, lifts, parking restrictions, sound limiters, curfews or other relevant rules. Outdoor equipment requires a safe, dry and suitably sheltered position agreed beforehand. Smoke or haze is used only with venue permission. Paul may pause an activity where there is a genuine safety risk and will explain the issue and try to resolve it; any effect on service or payment will be considered fairly in the circumstances.
9. Music and event timings
Please send key songs, first-dance details and any do-not-play list in good time. Requests depend on track availability, suitability and the agreed event brief. Venue sound limits and licensing restrictions must be respected. Agreed performance start and finish times apply unless a change is confirmed.
10. Hire items and returns
Your quote will identify the hire items, hire period, delivery or collection arrangements and any agreed security deposit. Follow the setup and use instructions and do not move, alter or lend equipment without agreement. Report damage or faults promptly. You are responsible for loss or damage caused by misuse or failure to take reasonable care, but not fair wear and tear or an existing defect. Any repair or replacement charge must be reasonable, explained and supported by evidence. Additional hire time or late collection charges must be disclosed and agreed in advance.
11. Problems, complaints and your rights
If something is wrong, tell Paul promptly so there is an opportunity to put it right. You can also email a complaint with your booking details and the outcome you are seeking. Services must be provided with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded, or removes your statutory consumer rights.
12. Your details and these terms
Personal information is handled as described in our privacy information. The terms and written details agreed when you book apply to that booking; later website edits do not retrospectively change them. Keep a copy of your quotation, confirmation and applicable terms.
